FAQS

Our FAQs

  • What can I expect at my new patient appointment?

During your new patient appointment we will take a full mouth series of x-rays, complete a comprehensive exam, and check your gum pockets to see whether or not you have periodontal disease. X-rays are needed in order for the doctor to complete an exam. If you have current x-rays from another office we ask that you have those sent over to our office prior to your new patient appointment. X-rays can be emailed to info@readeldds.com. Depending on the results of the exam, a cleaning may or may not be done during this appointment.

  • Do you accept state insurance?

We are not contracted providers with any state insurance (ie. Medicaid, Molina or Apple Health), so we would charge our regular fees for services.

  • What insurance do you accept?

We accept PPO insurances including but not limited to Delta Dental, Cigna, or Aetna. We do not accept HMO insurances such as Delta Care and Willamette. Please give us a call if you are unsure about your insurance type.

  • What whitening options do you offer?

We offer the ZOOM system. Zoom Teeth Whitening is a form of laser treatment. It lightens the staining or discoloration of tooth enamel. It is a simple, non-invasive procedure that usually takes between 45 minutes to an hour.

The process combines a special lamp, referred to as a Zoom light or Zoom laser, with a hydrogen peroxide-based whitening gel. Using both, the dentist will bleach each tooth and produce a brighter smile by the end of the treatment.

    How Does it Work?

A high concentration of hydrogen peroxide is used in the gel that covers your teeth. When the peroxide comes into contact with the intense light emitted from the lamp, it breaks down. Then it dissolves a thin layer over top of the enamel and releases oxygen into the teeth. The oxygen then helps to flush out and get rid of tooth discoloration that has set in.

Think of it like you're giving your teeth a chemical bath. As an added bonus, Zoom whitening does not affect the physical structures of your teeth at all. This low-risk procedure is of the best teeth whitening options out there.

    How Much Is Zoom Whitening?

You may be wondering what all of this costs. The average cost for the entire procedure runs around $500. This includes the take-home kits you will receive before you leave. HOWEVER, Dr. Readel offers a discounted rate of just $399.00.
